Sunshine

A precious lady at our church went home to be with Jesus this week, Ms. Shirley Holcombe. She was such a sweet sweet lady. If you knew her you know exactly what I’m talking about.

My mom let me know before my CrossFit kids class in case any of the kids knew from school she wanted to tell me first. My mom is awesome like that. She seriously sends me and my sister birthday reminders, family event reminders, and is always the one who tells us the sad stuff too. She’s on it. I would much rather hear sad stuff from her than anyone else.

I can’t stop thinking about Shirley this week. She was so kind. So so kind. She sat on the opposite end of the church from us. Meaning I may not have gotten to even talk to her on a weekly basis. But, I loved seeing her smiling face from across the room on Sundays. She would walk in a room and it would immediately be brighter. She was so happy.

Jesus just shown through her.

Almost like Jesus radiated through her so immensely that He had to come out in some way.

That’s what I can’t stop thinking about. What a beautiful testimony she left. She was a person Jesus shown through. She was content and happy. And Jesus was her Savior. And it was very evident.

So…

I want that. I want to be a person that makes a room instantly brighter.

I want to be a person that makes a room brighter and I want Jesus to shine through me.

My mom said Shirley is singing “O’ what a Savior” (a song she sang at our church lots) to Jesus now… Heaven is a little brighter I bet.
